1. Purpose of the DomiSMP

The eDelivery Service Metadata Publisher (eDelivery SMP) enables the participants of an eDelivery Messaging Infrastructure network to dynamically discover each other’s message exchange capabilities. For this to happen, each participant must publish into an SMP its capabilities and settings (including but not limited to):

  • business processes that the participant supports

  • the security setup (public key certificate)

  • the transport protocol (AS2 or AS4)

  • the location of the receiver’s access point

Before data is published, the party publishing the data is authenticated and authorized only for owned data/document resources. User owns the resource only if he is member of the resource with the admin rights. All data changes are recorded and audited.

When the counter-party discovers the data, DomiSMP digitally signs them upon reply and enables the participant to verify the authenticity of the data.

In other words, DomiSMP is a trusted data connectivity service provider. The purpose of a trusted network connectivity data service provider is to allow network participants to publish data once and in a single location for all network participants to find.
